Israel will not apologize to Turkey

It is very interesting that the US is now putting pressure on Israel to apologize to Turkey for something that happened in May of 2010.  Why now?   Could this be in prep to the upcoming UN Security Council vote on a Palestinian State and Obama's veto power?   Something to think about as we near September 20th.
